... who knows what other travellers might not have set out with a wild surmise for these shores? Looking perhaps for Luca Antara; perhaps just for the day after tomorrow.

... off tomorrow for ten days or so. Itinerary goes: Wellington, Palmerston North, Ohakune, Rotorua, Hamilton, Huntly, Auckland. Should be able to climb on a few mountains, circumambulate a few lakes, soak in a few thermal pools ... I hope ...
My optician warned me yesterday about not getting drops of water from mineral pools in my eyes because of risk of infection .... all I could think was that as I had no plans to go anywhere near such pools, this was not going to be a problem ... But all the same, I'll pass on the advice: Watch you don't get any of that mineral pool water in youir eyes Martin! And, of course it goes without saying - enjoy your tour.
Martin - I like your work -I read the biog of Clairmont and your esays etc - I wish you well - for personal reasons I rarely attend any public events, parties etc, movies; however; otherwise I would certainly have attended your launch - I am also bit short of 'the ready' for now. but I wish you all the best.
And regards to Murray - very intelligent and talented poet and play writer himself...
I have never seen the mountains in the S.I. - I am terrified of mountains - I hear that traveling around NZ is very dangerous these days (there is a hell of lot of violence and random killings etc and so on here these days) and massively expensive so I stay in Panmure as much as possible. Take care - mineral water is least of your worries in this crap hole called NZ...Cheers.

Sounds nice (Saw the itinerary on Jack Ross' site) Hope the voice is back :-)
I wish your itinerary included Melbourne, I'd come along too.

Looking forward to seeing Martin in Titirangi - a bit early for Going West but still in time for a drink!
